Hailing from Faisalabad, Pakistan, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan carries forward a rich family tradition as a master of Qawwali, a form of Sufi devotional music, and is the nephew of the esteemed Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. His career, which began in earnest around 1997, includes extensive work as a playback singer in Hindi cinema, with his 2003 Bollywood debut "Mann Ki Lagan" becoming a significant hit. Khan's sound blends powerful, soulful vocals with traditional instrumentation, creating an experience that is both spiritually resonant and emotionally stirring. Currently on his "The Voice of Eternity" North America tour, his performances offer a captivating journey through centuries-old musical forms.
