Overview

The Lineup (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates thelineup.show, a concert discovery service for Vancouver, BC. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how we protect it.

We are based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada and comply with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

What We Collect

• Account information — email address and password (password is hashed and stored by our authentication provider, Supabase).
• Rotation data — artists you track, genre preferences, saved events, and affinity settings you configure.
• Usage analytics — pages visited, features used, and general interaction patterns via PostHog. No personally identifiable browsing history is collected.
• Device information — browser type and screen size for analytics purposes. We do not fingerprint devices.

We do not collect payment information, government IDs, precise location, contacts, or any data from your music streaming accounts beyond what you explicitly import (e.g., a playlist URL you paste).

How We Use Your Data

• To provide personalized concert recommendations based on your rotation.
• To remember your preferences across sessions and devices.
• To improve the service through aggregated, anonymized usage analytics.
• To send transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset).
• If you opt in, to send marketing emails such as weekly concert picks or newsletters. You can unsubscribe at any time. We will never send marketing emails without your explicit consent.

Third-Party Services

We use third-party services for authentication, database hosting, and usage analytics. These services may process your data as described above. Your personal data is not shared with any other third parties.

Cookies

We use only functional cookies required for authentication (Supabase session cookies). We do not use advertising, tracking, or third-party cookies. PostHog operates without cookies using localStorage.

Data Retention

Your account and rotation data are retained as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all associated data is permanently removed from our database immediately. Anonymized analytics data may be retained indefinitely.

Your Rights

Under PIPEDA, you have the right to:

• Access your personal data — view your rotation and account information at any time.
• Correct inaccurate data — edit your rotation and preferences.
• Delete your data — delete your account from the rotation page, which permanently removes all your data.
• Withdraw consent — you can stop using the service at any time.

Children

The Lineup is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated via the service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
