ORI SHALVA GEORGIAN TRIO

Toronto's Ori Shalva, also known as the Makharashvili family, is Canada's leading Georgian polyphonic vocal ensemble, preserving a UNESCO-recognised musical tradition. Led by Shalva Makharashvili and Andrea Kuzmich, the group, which includes their sons, has been performing for over two decades. Their sound features visceral, intricate harmonies, blending lively toasting songs with meditative chants. It's a rare and deeply human experience, transporting listeners to the mountain villages of Sakartvelo.
