DELHI 2 DUBLIN

Vancouver's own Delhi 2 Dublin, formed in 2006, has spent two decades at the forefront of South Asian fusion, pioneering a sound they call "Subcontinental Pop." Founding members Sanjay Seran (vocals) and Ravi Binning (dhol, dholak) lead the charge, blending Bhangra, electronic, hip-hop, reggae, and Celtic influences, as heard on their 2007 self-titled debut and their recent 20th-anniversary singles like "Smooth Operator" and "Dil Nachde XX." Their live shows are an energetic mash-up of hypnotic dhol and tabla rhythms, deep basslines, and soaring violin melodies. Expect a high-energy, genre-defying party.
