ADAM O’FARRILL’S ELEPHANT

Brooklyn-born trumpeter Adam O'Farrill, a "rising star as a player and composer," leads his quartet Elephant, a project that sees him expand his musical language into a genre-blurring space. Their debut album, Elephant, released in March 2026 on Out of Your Head Records, showcases O'Farrill on trumpet and electronics, Yvonne Rogers on piano and synthesizer, Walter Stinson on double bass, and Russell Holzman on drums. The group's sound blends the intimacy of a jazz quartet with the emotional depth of 20th-century minimalism and the rhythmic urgency of contemporary electronic music, drawing inspiration from composers like Steve Reich and Ryuichi Sakamoto. Expect intricate rhythmic frameworks and a fluid, shape-shifting journey through modern jazz.
