CHRIS MURPHY

The Los Angeles-based violinist, bandleader, and composer Chris Murphy has spent over three decades fusing diverse styles into a singular sound, with his Teahouse Records label serving as a home for his eclectic output. His 2023 LP, The Road and the Stars, showcases this multi-genre approach, blending roots-rock, Celtic, bluegrass, and jazz. Murphy's violin work is often layered and atmospheric, moving from urgent, dramatic swells to more intimate, spoken-word vocal deliveries. Expect a journey through soundscapes both familiar and otherworldly.
