SUNN O )))

The Seattle-formed drone metal pioneers Sunn O))), helmed by core members Stephen O'Malley and Greg Anderson, have spent nearly three decades pushing the boundaries of heavy music since their 2000 debut, ØØ Void. Known for their extremely loud live performances, the duo recently released their self-titled tenth studio album in April 2026 via Sub Pop Records, following 2019's Pyroclasts. Their sound is a colossal blend of heavily distorted guitars and resonant feedback, crafting monolithic soundscapes with extremely slow tempos and a distinct lack of discernible rhythm or melody. Expect an immersive, physical experience of sound and density.
