SON ROMPE PERA

Hailing from Naucalpan, Mexico, Son Rompe Pera, led by brothers Jesús "Kacho" Gama and Allan "Mongo" Gama, have redefined the marimba for the 21st century since their formation in 2017. Their 2020 debut album, Batuco, released on ZZK Records, fused the traditional instrument with punk, cumbia, and ska, a sound they've continued to evolve through their 2023 release Chimborazo and their upcoming 2026 album Marimbazos de Oro. Expect a high-energy blend of distorted marimba melodies, driving rhythms, and a raw, rebellious spirit that transforms folkloric dance music into a sweat-soaked mosh pit.
