RODRIGO Y GABRIELA

Hailing from Mexico City, the acoustic guitar duo Rodrigo y Gabriela, comprised of Rodrigo Sánchez and Gabriela Quintero, first gained international recognition with their 2006 self-titled album on ATO Records, which topped the Irish Albums Chart. The duo, who previously played in a thrash metal band, are known for their instrumental duets that blend nuevo flamenco, rock, and heavy metal influences. Their sound features Sánchez's intricate lead guitar work and Quintero's percussive rhythms, often using the guitar body as a drum. With a new album, OurHome, slated for release in September 2026, their live shows are a masterclass in acoustic power and precision.
