MECKLING / BURROWS QUINTET

The Meckling / Burrows Quintet brings together a wealth of Vancouver jazz talent, co-led by vocalist Tess Meckling, a Capilano University jazz and classical program graduate, and guitarist Jared Burrows, a long-standing fixture in the local scene and Capilano University instructor. Meckling, who also releases music as Leizel, draws inspiration from Black American Music traditions, while Burrows' extensive career includes collaborations with diverse musicians and a focus on jazz, free improvisation, and European concert music. The quintet's sound is a sophisticated blend of contemporary and traditional jazz, featuring dynamic vocals, intricate guitar work, and a tight rhythm section. Expect an evening of expertly crafted instrumental and vocal interplay.
