INSOMNIUM

Hailing from Joensuu, Finland, Insomnium has been a consistent force in melodic death metal since their formation in 1997, releasing their debut album, In the Halls of Awaiting, in 2002. Composed of Niilo Sevänen, Ville Friman, Markus Hirvonen, Markus Vanhala, and newest member Tomy Laisto, the band is set to release their tenth studio album, Netherworlds, in October 2026 via Century Media Records. Their sound is a dynamic interplay of crushing riffs, sweeping harmonies, and cavernous growls balanced with evocative clean vocals, creating atmospheric soundscapes of sorrow and grandeur. Expect a profound journey through melancholic metal.
