CITY POP LIGHTS

Vancouver's own City Pop Lights is a ten-person ensemble dedicated to recreating the vibrant sound of 1980s Japanese city pop. Featuring vocalists Kitty Zhao and Xirui Wang, alongside guitarists Jeffery Chen and Chris Knee, the band meticulously reinterprets classic tracks like "Stay with Me" and "4:00 AM" with a full complement of keyboards, bass, drums, and horns. Their live performances are a meticulously crafted homage, transporting audiences to a smokey early 80s concert hall in Shibuya. Expect a sophisticated, jazz-infused blend of funk, disco, and R&B, designed for a night of pure, unadulterated nostalgia.
