VAN DJANGO

Vancouver's own Van Django, formed in 1998 by violinist Cameron Wilson and guitarist Budge Schachte, has become a cornerstone of the Canadian gypsy jazz scene. The acoustic string ensemble, also featuring Finn Manniche on guitar/cello and Brent Gubbels on bass, draws heavily from 1930s Parisian gypsy jazz, while incorporating diverse influences. Their discography includes four albums, with their debut "Tiptoe Trip" released in 2006, and their holiday album "Cool Yule" featuring special guests.
