THE TIM SARS QUARTET

Vancouver's own Tim Sars leads a quartet that has become a staple of the local jazz and funk scene, with Sars himself a prolific baritone saxophonist and composer. Known for his work with groups like the Carnival Band, Camaro 67, and Tiny Islands (whose debut album Tiny Islands was released in 2017), Sars brings a wealth of experience to his namesake quartet. The group delivers a horn-heavy sound that fuses New Orleans street beat with Latin jazz and funk, driven by dynamic improvisation and a deep musical connection. Expect infectious grooves and vibrant, cross-genre energy.
