L7

The Los Angeles-formed punk rock quartet L7, featuring Donita Sparks, Suzi Gardner, Jennifer Finch, and Dee Plakas, became a defining act of the grunge era after their 1988 self-titled debut on Epitaph Records. Their 1992 breakout album, Bricks Are Heavy, produced by Butch Vig, solidified their blend of punk ethos and heavy, hooky rock. Known for their raw, unbridled energy and socio-political anthems, L7's sound is a potent mix of gritty guitar riffs, driving basslines, and powerful, often snarling, vocals.
