ICELAND AIRWAVES OFF VENUE

The Iceland Airwaves Off venue event brings a curated selection of Icelandic talent to Vancouver, showcasing the diverse sounds of Reykjavík's renowned music festival. This particular showcase features virgin orchestra, a trio formed in Reykjavík in 2021, known for their 2023 Berlin-recorded release fragments via Smekkleysa/Bad Taste. Their sound blends post-punk with electronic influences, sultry dreampop, and noise, creating lush, experimental soundscapes. Also performing is SCAM, an electro-pop project from Icelandic composers Herdís Stefánsdóttir and Salka Valsdóttir, delivering high-intensity techno bangers with euro-pop tendencies. Expect a night of cutting-edge Icelandic music.
