HOULE, MULLER & SCHULZ

Featuring Canadian vocalist Viviane Houle and German bassist Torsten Müller, alongside Australian accordionist Anthony Schulz, this trio brings together three prolific improvisers. Houle, known for her critically acclaimed 2009 debut Treize on Drip Audio, and Müller, a Vancouver-based free improvising bassist since 2001, have both collaborated with numerous figures in contemporary and improvised music. Schulz, an ARIA award-winning musician, expands the sonic possibilities of the piano accordion, drawing from jazz, improvisation, and European folk. Their collective sound is a dynamic exploration of nuanced textures and spontaneous musical dialogue. An evening of deep listening and unexpected turns.
