HOMEBOY SANDMAN

Queens, New York's Angel Del Villar II, known as Homeboy Sandman, has been a consistent force in underground hip-hop since his 2007 debut EP, Nourishment. He gained wider recognition after signing with Stones Throw Records in the early 2010s, releasing acclaimed albums like 2012's First of a Living Breed, and has frequently collaborated with Aesop Rock as the duo Lice. His sound features razor-sharp wordplay and intricate, often conversational, flows that challenge hip-hop conventions while exploring social issues and lighter themes. Expect a masterclass in lyrical dexterity and thoughtful storytelling.
