GHIBLI JAZZ ORCHESTRA

The Vancouver-based Ghibli Jazz Orchestra, founded by Isabel Leong in 2022, is an 18-piece ensemble dedicated to performing the beloved scores of Studio Ghibli films. Their repertoire primarily features compositions by Joe Hisaishi, reimagined through a big band lens with arrangements often crafted by the orchestra members themselves. Expect a lush, orchestral sound that blends the whimsical melodies of anime with the rich harmonies and improvisational spirit of jazz. A truly unique and transportive musical experience.
