GARAJ MAHAL

Formed in 2000, the American jazz fusion band Garaj Mahal brings together the virtuosic talents of guitarist Fareed Haque, bassist Kai Eckhardt, keyboardist Eric Levy, and drummer Sean Rickman. Their sound is a dynamic blend of jazz, rock, Indian music, and funk, often featuring intricate improvisations and a "shut-up-and-listen" jazz groove. With their 2005 album Blueberry Cave winning Best Jam Album at the 6th Annual Independent Music Awards, Garaj Mahal crafts complex, rhythmically tricky compositions alongside more melodic, straight-ahead jazz. Expect a sophisticated journey through diverse musical landscapes.
