FORRÓ DO CANA

Vancouver's own Forró do Cana, founded in 2018, is a Brazilian band dedicated to the vibrant music of Northeastern Brazil. Their sound blends the accordion work of Steve Charles with the seven-string acoustic guitar of Mario Silva and the percussion and Portuguese vocals of Camila Louzada. They deliver a lively mix of traditional forró rhythms like Baião, Xaxado, and Xote, often incorporating the fast, joyful rhythms of Frevo.
