ELUVEITIE

Hailing from Winterthur, Switzerland, Eluveitie, founded by Chrigel Glanzmann in 2002, has become a cornerstone of modern folk metal, breaking out with their 2008 Nuclear Blast album Slania. The band masterfully blends melodic death metal with traditional Celtic music, often incorporating instruments like hurdy-gurdy, bagpipes, and flutes, with lyrics frequently in the ancient Gaulish language. Their sound is a dynamic tapestry of aggressive riffs, pounding rhythms, and earthy folk melodies, creating an epic and immersive atmosphere. Expect a powerful fusion of ancient heritage and contemporary metal ferocity.
