ELGAR'S VIOLIN & MAHLER 10

Featuring the passionate Violin Concerto by English composer Edward Elgar, completed in 1910, this programme also presents Gustav Mahler's unfinished Tenth Symphony. German violinist Christian Tetzlaff, known for his expressive interpretations, has recently released a recording of the Elgar concerto with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra. Mahler's final composition, the Tenth Symphony, was substantially drafted but not fully orchestrated at his death, with only the first movement considered performable as he intended.
