DANIEL DEORKSEN BIG BAND

Vancouver's own Daniel Deorksen leads a dynamic big band, drawing on his extensive background as an actor, producer, and multi-instrumentalist. His compositions, which blend jazz training with funk-rock sensibilities and a professional theatre career, are brought to life by an eight-piece ensemble featuring local talent like Thomas Houlden on trumpet and vocals, and Kurt Schindelka on piano. The sound is a sophisticated fusion, marked by intricate arrangements and a lively, engaging rhythm section. Expect a night of expertly crafted, high-energy jazz.
