BRYN ROBERTS TRIO

Winnipeg-born pianist Bryn Roberts has built a distinguished career as a sideman and leader, releasing his debut album Present Tense in 2001 and collaborating with notable artists like Seamus Blake and Rosanne Cash. His latest work, Aloft, released in September 2024 on Elastic Recordings, is a trio outing featuring bassist Matt Penman and drummer Quincy Davis. The trio navigates a sophisticated sound, blending Roberts' original compositions with fresh interpretations of standards, marked by elegant piano work, agile basslines, and a propulsive sense of swing. Expect a refined evening of contemporary jazz.
