BASIC

The experimental trio BASIC, featuring Chris Forsyth (Solar Motel Band), Douglas McCombs (Tortoise, Eleventh Dream Day), and Mikel Patrick Avery (Natural Information Society), are known for their improvisational approach to rock. Their self-titled sophomore album, released in June 2026 on No Quarter, was largely invented on the spot in Chicago's Electric Audio. Expect a sound that blends textured guitar work with a driving, often unpredictable rhythm section. A truly dynamic live experience.
