APACHE INDIAN

Birmingham-born Steven Kapur, known as Apache Indian, pioneered the "bhangramuffin" sound, fusing Jamaican ragga and Indian bhangra with his 1993 debut album, No Reservations, released on Island Records. His distinctive vocal style, often delivered in Jamaican patois, blends South Asian, West Indian, and English cultural elements, earning him a British Empire Medal in 2021 for services to music and young people. Expect a lively mix of dancehall rhythms and traditional Indian sounds, built for a high-energy crowd.
